The Miele 2009/2010 Asia Awards

Yesterday, the 2nd awards for the Miele Top Restaurants in Asia were hosted in Singapore. Below is the list of top 20 best Restaurants in Asia according to the Miele guide. Its funny how many of the restaurants mentioned don't even serve Asian cuisine (top 5 restaurants are French Cuisine).

As far as the Philippines is concerned, my favorite Restaurant (Antonios) fell from 10th place last year to 17th place this year. There is also a new Philippine restaurant on the top 20: Aubergine.

I have only been there once and after this award, maybe I should try them again soon..

Hmm... I think Antonio's ranking fell because the voting was not as publicized as last year by popular bloggers. I didn't even get to vote:-(

I've eaten at 10 of the 20 restaurants listed , and for some of them more than a few times.. I don't quite agree with these ratings! Trying Zanotti this weekend - hopefully it's as good as they say it is;-)

Hi there,

I have serious doubts regarding the judgement for the rankings for the restaurants in Hong Kong as Yung Kee (ranked No 10) is just some very average tourist hot spot Chinese restaurant whereby the food is nothing special at all. I can easily think of many other restaurants in Hong Kong much better than this.

Happy Eating!

At least Antonio's and Aubergine fared better than L'Atelier in Tokyo. I like Ku De Ta in Bali but I don't believe it deserves a top 20 spot.
